Lodi Gardens
Lodi gardens are a park in New Delhi which features the medieval architectural brilliance of Lodis who ruled India in 16th century. As a tribute to Mohammad Shah this earliest tombs were built in this park by Ala-Uddin-Alam-Shah in 1444. The road on which these gardens are situated is also known as the Lodi road named after the emperors. Some of the tombs are visible to the passers by from the road. The tomb of Sikander Lodi in the gardens is the widely visited one which was built by Ibrahim Lodi the last of the Lodi dynasty who was defeated by Babur in the First Battle of Panipat.
